Description

This dataset shows locations of cooling towers. This is a combined list managed and enforced by Leeds City Council and the Health & Safety Executive. Cooling towers are part of a system for providing air conditioning or refrigeration on a large scale. There is a heat exchanger in the tower to remove heat which aids cooling. They are usually placed on the top of buildings. The problem with cooling towers is that they produce warm water vapour, and unless they are managed properly there is a risk of Legionella being distributed in the air.

Description

This dataset provides details of the number of visitors to the Leeds International Film Festival and their locations. The postcodes provided are for the individual customers who purchased tickets in advance through Box Office. It should be noted that these customers often buy multiple tickets and festival passes. This data does not include on-the-door sales or attendees to free events (for example Leeds Free Cinema Week, our exhibition at the Royal Armouries Museum, Vertical Cinema at Left Bank, Chapel FM and North Bar). It is estimated that, in 2014, over 40,000 people attended film festival events.

Description

The following dataset is the results of a broadband satisfaction questionnaire completed by the residents and businesses broken down by postcode sector. Addtional Information In December 2010 the UK Government launched a strategy entitled “Britain’s Superfast Broadband Future”, which had the objective of establishing a framework to facilitate the roll-out of Superfast Broadband (SFBB) and basic broadband across the country. Subsequently, the Government committed GBP £530 million of funding to meet this objective, which is where part of the funding for this project is derived from. The Government’s broadband delivery arm 'Broadband Delivery UK' (BDUK) was set up to administer the programme and deliver the vision for better broadband across the UK, by bringing together the public and private sector investment. Our research indicates that gaps in broadband coverage in West Yorkshire are prevalent in both urban as well as rural locations affecting both residential and business premises. Latest projections suggest that there are approximately 132,000 premises (13% of all premises in the sub region) which are either poorly or not served at all by broadband infrastructure. The project will also aim to ensure that any new broadband provision it supports is provided to communities and businesses at a fair price through an open network which attracts a wide variety of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) – ensuring healthy competition in the local broadband market. Description

The dataset shows the interim projected household levels broken down by age. This dataset replaces the 2008-based household projections released in 2010. The household projections are produced by applying projected household representative rates to the population projections published by the Office for National Statistics. Projected household representative rates are based on trends observed in Census and Labour Force Survey data. The assumptions underlying national household and population projections are demographic trend based. They are not forecasts as they do not attempt to predict the impact that future government policies, changing economic circumstances or other factors might have on demographic behaviour. They provide the household levels and structures that would result if the assumptions based on previous demographic trends in the population and rates of household formation were to be realised in practice. Additional Information. This data is available for download as an Excel spreadsheet (https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/189965/AllTablesNonRegionalFinal__3_.xls). The original open data source can be found on the DCLG Open Data site - (http://opendatacommunities.org/data/households/projections/by-age)
