Description
WFD Coastal Waterbodies 1st Cycle is a polygon Shapefile dataset defining coastal waterbodies for the implementation of the Water Framework Directive (WFD). Article 2 clause 7 of the WFD defines coastal waterbodies as 'a surface water on the landward side of a line every point of which is at a distance of one nautical mile on the seaward side from the nearest point of the baseline from which the breadth of territorial waters is measured extending where appropriate up to the outer limit of transitional waters'. Coastal waters were defined by territorial waters 1 nautical mile from the Mean High Water and the coastline taken directly from OS 1:50K MeridianTM 2. The break between coastal and estuarine waters was delineated by the Environment Agency defined transitional waterbodies. Since waterbodies are attributed with a unique identifier (EA_WB_ID) this dataset can be linked directly to other WFD data sources such as physical characteristics risk classification and proposed objectives.

The Digital Archives contain scanned images of Land Registry’s historical 1862 Act Register. The original records are in 272 volumes, containing a mix of handwritten or typed pages made from parchment, waxed linen or paper, and printed documents and deed plans. The digital version is an exact replica of the original paper version. Around 2,000 individual properties were registered across England & Wales. Each registered property was given a unique reference number or ‘Title Number’.

These data are modelled estimates of literacy , numeracy and ICT skills in lower-level geographies in England. Small Area Estimation modelling methods have been applied to the 2011 Skills for Life survey data in order to generate local level area estimates of: the number and proportion of adults (aged 16-64 years old) in England living in households with defined skill levels in: literacy, numeracy and ICT, including emailing, word processing, spreadsheet use and a multiple-choice assessment of ICT awareness. The number and proportion of adults in households who do not speak English as a first language are also included. Two sets of Small Area Estimates are provided for seven geographies: Middle Layer Super Output Areas (MSOAs), Standard Table Wards, 2005 Statistical Wards, 2011 Council Wards, 2011 Parliamentary Constituencies, Local Authorities, and Local Enterprise Partnership areas. Regional estimates have also been provided, however, unlike the other geographies, these estimates are based on direct survey.
