Description
This release contains data for the quarters April - June 2008 to July - September 2011. Other quarters will be added subsequently. Note that there have been changes to PCTs from 1 April 2010. In some cases these are minor changes to names. In such cases the earlier name will be retained for consistency. The PCTs East and North Hertfordshire and West Hertfordshire have merged to form Hertfordshire. Solihull PCT gave up its Care Trust status and changed its PCT code in May 2011 and so there will be a discontinuity in data between quarters before April 2011 and subsequent data. Some prescriptions will continue to appear for the old PCTs for up to 6 months as prescriptions are valid for that period. The data is being made available via NHS iView which will allow users to manipulate and extract data. To use NHS iView you will need to create an account. Go to NHS iView to see the data Read the iView Prescribing user-guide In line with the Making Public Data Public initiative, the data for July to September 2011 is also being made available as a comma separated values (CSV) file. The structure of the file is: Quarter PCT code PCT Name BNF section code BNF section name Items Actual Cost Net Ingredient Cost Note that the file has column headings and that this is as extracted from ePACT (service provided by Prescription Services) and no changes have been made. It therefore differs from the NHS iView product.

Description
Mental Health Minimum Dataset (MHMDS) is a regular return of data from providers of NHS funded adult secondary mental health services, produced during in the course of delivering services to patients. Providers currently submit data every quarter. From Quarter 1 2011/12, a new version of MHMDS (version 4) includes new data items and is processed using a new system. Some of the changes have been introduced to support the implementation of of Payment by Results for mental health. Note: Incomplete reference data was used in the production of the data quality measure (DQM9) for NHS Occupation Code, which means that the published measure for Q1, Q2 and Q3 final quarterly data, for this measure, are unreliable. The reference data has been updated for the Q4 reports. Southwark PCT (5LE) was not able to submit a quarter 1 provisional Community Mental Health Activity return. This is likely to have had a negligible effect on England totals for each indicator, but a more pronounced effect on London Strategic Health Authority totals. Description
Mental Health Minimum Data Set (MHMDS) is a regular return of data generated by providers of adult secondary mental health services in the course of delivering services to patients. From Quarter 1 2011/12, the MHMDS will be processed using a new system. Full details of the methods used in processing can be found in the MHMDS Version 4 User Guidance and Appendices. Organisations that provide specialist mental health services currently make four quarterly MHMDS submissions. It is planned with the change to support Payment by Results that trusts will submit on a monthly basis in the future. The Quarter 1, April 2011 to June 2011, report is a Data Quality publication of the data that trusts have submitted. As such, it only covers two of the indicators in the NHS Performance Framework for Mental Health trusts. For the first time, data from the Community Mental Health Activity collection is also being published.
