Description

These data are produced under Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) UKAAQA contract and are derived from Defra's national Pollution Climate (PCM) models. They are produced on an ad-hoc basis approximately every 3 years and provide 1x1km resolution background concentrations for key pollutants (typically NOX, NO2, PM10 and PM2.5) by local authority and split out according to source sector to demonstrate the relative impact of different sources on ambient air quality at background environments. These mapping data and only these data should be used for LAQM purposes. The data includes concentrations for the most recent base year and projected concentrations based on anticipated emissions and climatalogical trends for future years (typically up to 2020).
