Description

This dataset shows the extent and names of Deserts, Downs, Peninsulas, Isthmus and Tablelands and also named Natural Regions within the State of Queensland such as the Channel and Gulf Country . The extent of these features are difficult to define accurately and as such the boundary represents an approximate or fuzzy extent of the feature rather than the exact extent. Names have been sourced from numerous locations and attributes within the data describe the source of the names and includes names obtained from:-- Queensland Place Names Database- Queensland Government publications- Geoscience Australia 1:100000 Topographic Mapping- Geoscience Australia 1:250000 Topographic Mapping
